About Humane Society of Central Texas
The Humane Society of Central Texas (HSCTX) is a foster-based rescue and Human-Animal Support Services provider serving Waco and the greater Central Texas community.
We do not operate a facility with kennels for the public to visit. Instead, all of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes, where they receive care while waiting for their forever families.
If you’re interested in adopting, please visit our website to view our current adoptable pets and submit an application. We’ll connect you directly with a foster to set up a meet-and-greet.
In addition to adoptions, HSCTX provides Human-Animal Support Services to help families keep their pets through hard times and to build a more compassionate Central Texas for pets and people.

This place deserves all the funding it can get!! Please donate!! They helped me with end of life, and cremation for my dog. So compassionate, and empathetic.

We recently adopted a dog from the Humane Society of Central Texas. The process waa so uncomplicated and made the experience wonderful for us. We were able to meet with our dog and his fosterer in a timely manner. They allowed us to take him him on a trial run for a week, but had told us if we knew after just a couple days we wanted to keep him, to just send them and text a d we could complete the process of adopting him online, which we did. The cost is minimal to adopt and the animals are well cared for as they are fostered and not kept in a shelter. We really loved our experience adopting through the Humane Society and are planning on adopting again.

We are so grateful for Humane Society of Central Texas and their willingness to step in and help when it truly matters. During a recent large intake situation, they took in a mom cat with six babies plus an additional single, which made a huge difference for our small rescue. Their team was kind, responsive, and clearly committed to the wellbeing of the animals. Partnerships like this are what make rescue work possible! When organizations come together, more lives are saved. We appreciate their support and the role they play in helping our community’s animals. 🤍

I would like to give a BIG thanks to the Humane Society of Central Texas and their entire team. They have worked so hard in providing their time and assistance. From kennels, to dog food, shots, wellness visits and lending an ear for me to vent everyone have been awesome! I am still working with them on one more adoption, but they have made this journey feel possible. Thanks for all that you do!!

The building is a shared space office. When the receptionist informed The Humane Society that I was there and looking for them, no one ever came to speak to me. After waiting for 15 minutes, with two kittens, I left with no help. Just my experience
